Prepositions vs. prepositional article in contemporary Italian with particular regard to the preposition "in" and "nel"

The aim of this thesis is to compare the occurrence ratio of the preposition proper IN and contracted form NEL, to evaluate the results of the research and to arrive at new uses of prepositions in contemporary Italian. In the first part of my bachelor thesis, I will focus on the theoretical part in which I will summarize and describe individual monosyllable "proper" prepositions and prepositional articles. In the practical part of my thesis, I will examine the ratio of appearance of the prepositions "in" and "nel" and a, con, su (appearing in concurence) on the particular examples, using the online Italian corpus CORIS/CODIS and La Repubblica. Finally, I will evaluate the results of the study
